Before becoming the Athletic Director at Santa Maria High School, I coached 35 years of high school sports. Although I am known for my accomplishments as a Head Football Coach, I have coached Baseball and Track and Field. I grew up in the community of Santa Maria. I graduated from Righetti High School in 1982. I spent six years in the United States Navy on the USS Safeguard and was stationed in Pearl Harbor. While in the Navy not only did I work as a Radioman, but I was also the ship’s Athletic Petty Officer, signs of things to come. After the Navy, I started my coaching career at Righetti high school and then moved to the Bay area where I coached at Concord High School. I came back home to Santa Maria and married my beautiful wife Shannon. We are a God loving family with three adult children and three Grandchildren.

After finishing College and earning my bachelors in Psychology. I spent several years as an Instructional Aide in Special Education before becoming a Special Education Teacher. During these years I coached at Pioneer Valley High School and became the Head Football Coach. After a successful stint at Pioneer Valley, I took my talents as Head Coach to Santa Maria High School with the help of my Coaching staff, we built a competitive football program and brought a CIF Championship game to the School. Although I am known for my coaching abilities, my strength is in building relationships and my dedication to our Student Athletes. The opportunity to oversee our Athletic program is truly a blessing.
