Subjects Taught
Modern World History, US Economics, Us Government (P)

After graduating from Arroyo Grande High School, Miss Ray attended Cuesta College then UCLA, where she earned a BA in History.  Originally on a pre-Law path, she changed goals after a post-graduation trip to eleven countries, deciding instead to pursue a teaching career.  After teaching for seven years, she took a break to raise children and run a small business.  In 2007, when her children reached school age, she returned to the classroom.  Now teaching Modern World History, Government, and Economics, Miss Ray feels she has a job that is beyond rewarding.

She recently completed her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.  Miss Ray feels extraordinarily blessed to have the privilege to shape and educate young adults, and to have the opportunity to serve her community.  “I live a dream every day.”

Miss Ray has taught for most of her career at SMHS.  She started teaching Modern World History, then soon expanded to L2 US History, Government and Economics.  Over the years she has also taught Home Economics, General Science, Math, and Special Education.  She has taught summer school at SMHS and Righetti, and Independent Study at Delta.  Currently she teaches exclusively Social Science at SMHS.
