Subjects Taught
Journalism I, Journalism II, Publications (Yearbook), World Literature A (P)

I earned my Bachelors of Art in English, with an emphasis in creative writing from San Diego State University.

My teaching credential is from a University in Michigan, called Ferris State University.  There I was part of a Masters in Education program, with an emphasis in curriculum and instruction.

I began working in the classroom as a substitute teacher, which prompted me to go back to school to be a teacher. After completing my credential program, I worked as a high school English and social studies teacher in Swartz Creek, Mi.  I taught mostly freshmen and sophomore classes.

I'm in my 5th year teaching here at Santa Maria High School, and I love it!  I'm also the senior class (2016) adviser.  This year is my first year taking on the yearbook and the school  newspaper.  I'm excited to make some changes, but also keep some traditions.

I grew up in Valencia, Ca.  After graduating from college, I moved to Alaska to find adventure!  My kids and I moved back to California in 2009 from Michigan, and we've been living on the Central Coast since.
