To our SMHS families,

As a result of school closures in response to COVID-19, School Counselors will be out of the office for an unforeseen amount of time. We will respond to all emails and voicemails in a timely manner. If this is a matter regarding you and/or your student (s) well-being, we encourage you to contact the following community resources:

·        211 – Call, text, or chat (www.211.org) to speak with a community resource specialist in your area who will help you find services and resources available for:

  • Supplemental food and nutrition program
  • Shelter and housing options and utilities assistance
  • Emergency information and disaster relief
  • Employment and education opportunities
  • Health care, vaccination and health epidemic information
  • Addiction prevention and rehabilitation programs
  • Support groups for individuals with mental illnesses or special needs
  • Resources for physical and/or emotional domestic abuse

If this is a medical emergency, please call 911.

In order to address questions surfacing as a result of our schools closing, the district has developed a Frequently Asked Questions resource, available through the district website (www.smjuhsd.k12.us) . This information may change as events unfold. Please check Santa Maria High School website for updates.

Como resultado del cierre de escuelas en respuesta a COVID-19, los consejeros escolares estarán fuera de la oficina por un período de tiempo imprevisto. Responderemos a todos los correos electrónicos y llamadas telefónicas correos de voz de manera oportuna. WELCOME TO THE COUNSELING/GUIDANCE PAGE! 

 

The Santa Maria High School Counseling and Guidance Team welcomes you to a fantastic 2019-2020 school year! Throughout your high school experience, you will find our services to be an integral part of your education. Our team is made up of eight counselors assigned alphabetically by last name and by grade, a guidance secretary, and two guidance technicians. The guidance technicians help support students and counselors and various areas. Collectively, our counseling and guidance staff will work alongside students and parents to engage students, foster achievement, and inspire excellence throughout their high school years. We look forward to assisting with your student’s academic, personal/social, and college/career needs.
